Keeping your Haco Euromaster 220 ton 12 foot press brake in top condition is key to maintaining precision and reliability in your metal bending operations. This machine, equipped with a 6-axis backgauge, sheet followers in the front, Iris Lazersafe finger protection, and a Fastbend 2D MultiTouch Control, requires regular care to avoid downtime and costly repairs. Here are practical maintenance tips to help you get the most from your press brake.

Clean the Top of the Machine and Key Components

Dust and debris can accumulate on the top of the press brake, especially around the hydraulic pump motor and the AC unit. Regular cleaning prevents overheating and ensures smooth operation. Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dirt without damaging sensitive parts. Pay special attention to the AC unit to maintain proper cooling, which protects the electronics in the electrical cabinet from overheating.

Change Hydraulic Oil and Inspect Filters

Hydraulic oil is the lifeblood of your press brake’s movement. Use ISO AW 46 hydraulic oil when changing the oil to maintain the right viscosity and lubrication. Before refilling, clean the oil tank thoroughly to remove sludge or contaminants. Inspect both the suction and pressure filters for dirt or clogging. Replacing or cleaning these filters regularly prevents damage to the hydraulic pump and maintains consistent pressure during bending.

Purge Air from the Hydraulic System

Air trapped in the hydraulic system can cause erratic machine behavior and Make the control throw alarms. Purging the air ensures smooth hydraulic flow and consistent pressure. Follow the manufacturer’s procedure to bleed the system properly, usually involving cycling the machine and opening bleed valves until no air bubbles appear. This step improves the responsiveness of the press brake and smooth movement of the ram.

Backup the Fastbend 2D MultiTouch Control

The Fastbend 2D MultiTouch Control is the brain of your press brake, managing complex bending programs and machine settings. Regularly backing up its data protects your work from unexpected failures or software issues. Store backups on a secure external device or cloud storage. This precaution saves time and effort by allowing quick restoration of settings and programs after maintenance or repairs.

Inspect the Main Cabinet and Sheet Follower Cabinet

Electrical and control cabinets house critical components that keep your press brake running safely and efficiently. Inspect both the main cabinet and the sheet follower cabinet for dust, loose connections, or signs of wear. Clean the interiors carefully and tighten any loose wiring. This inspection helps prevent electrical faults that could cause machine stoppages or safety hazards.
